Helping happy kids grow into happy adults.

Growth begins from within.

Like morning dew gently nourishing a growing seed, therapy offers a space for children and families to feel safe, understood, and supported. At Inner Dew, we believe meaningful growth unfolds when what is already within is given the care and space to emerge.

Jade Yip, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

About me

Hi, I'm Jade — a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State. I specialize in working with children and their families, with a particular focus on play therapy and relationship-based work.

I began my work in the mental health field after graduating from Rutgers University in 2017. Since then, my experience has taken me across both China and the United States, including school settings in both countries as well as an outpatient setting in China. These experiences have shaped the way I understand children — not only as individuals, but within the context of their families, relationships, culture, school, and community.

My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and relational. I believe children already carry the capacity to grow, and my role is to provide the safety, connection, and support that allow that growth to unfold. I also work closely with parents and caregivers so that the progress made in therapy can extend into everyday life.

FAQs

What is play therapy?

Play is one of the most natural ways children communicate. When thoughts and feelings are difficult to express with words, children may use toys, art, games, movement, and imaginative play to show what they are experiencing.

Play therapy provides a developmentally appropriate way for children to explore emotions, relationships, challenges, and life experiences within a safe therapeutic relationship. Depending on your child's needs, sessions may include child-led play, therapeutic games, creative activities, emotional skill-building, and more structured interventions.

In many ways, play therapy gives children what talk therapy gives adults: a way to communicate, process experiences, develop insight, and practice new ways of coping.

What is the session fee?

My current session fee is $175/hour for individuals.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently an out-of-network (OON) provider and am not paneled with any insurance companies. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, which may allow you to receive partial reimbursement for therapy services. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to verify your OON benefits and the reimbursement process.

I may panel with select insurance providers in the future, but I do not currently have a timeline for doing so. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about fees, out-of-network reimbursement, or payment options.

Do we have to be in Washington?

Yes — your child needs to be physically located in Washington for each session. That's a licensing rule, not a preference.

What's your cancellation policy?

24 hours' notice, please. Late cancellations are charged the full fee, since that time was held for you. Illness and genuine emergencies are handled case by case.
